Hobbies & crafts
When I get my spare room sorted (see my planning here) I am hoping to have space dedicated to crafty hobbies. I have been pinning lots of craft ideas on my board Do More CraftsBut I was needing something to little mood boost & what better than to get my creative juices flowing than going to the land of Hobbies - Hobbycraft
They have everything craft - paper crafts, yarn, sewing supplies, arty stuff - anything you could think of actually all in the one place!
These crafty gods have thought about everything, in the middle they have a selection of beautiful things handmade then it points you in the right direction where to buy all your supplies to get you started.
Inspiration & supplies all under one roof!
As I wandered round I saw things I'd love to make but more importantly I felt I could make. I already knit but was looking for something else to dabble with. I found this beautiful book of templates for paper cutting.
I had already stumbled across paper cutting on Facebook with Paper Panda & adore her stuff it is amazing!! Check her out @paperpandacuts & Facebook you won't regret it!
She even does starter kits & after a few not so subtle hints my hubby bought me my very own kit! You even get a badge!! Believe me there will be a whole post on paper cutting!
In the scrapbooking section there was lovely folders, papers, stickers in fact it was a bit overwhelming. It looks like a lot to buy & if I lose interest … maybe not for me just now!
I did like the idea of My Life Story, a 100 year diary - where you fill in bits & pieces of your life with prompts for how the year has gone, which means in the end you have your life story. Your own book that you can hand on to anyone who may be remotely interested.
I love going through old diaries/letters so would love to read someone's book - prob the nosey in me!
There was even the famous Washi tape I see so much of on pinterest & craft blogs.
I am not really good at art but this bold book on Zentangle jumped out at me. As I flicked through I thought this could be doable, this could be something I could do right? It looks so striking & my mind went to ideas for gifts - letters, framed etc Basically it's structured doodling, you copy patterns then put them all together to make your unique drawing. It is supposed to be quite therapeutic too.
All in all I had a lovely day out & found some inspiration & some hobbies I will def look into a bit more soon
What are your hobbies?
Do you have a life story?
