Dressed for Dancing
Hey, with #BEDM I'm stretching my posts beyond my comfort zone venturing into new territory. An outfit post!Dum dum dum ….
Now I am no fashion blogger nor do I have any intentions of making this a regular feature but when I got ready for an evening wedding reception yesterday, I actually felt happy with my outfit!
The Dress
I saw the Lindy Bop Ophelia Sky Blue 1950s Floral Spring Garden Party Picnic dress on Facebook, in fact it kept popping up on my timeline, I showed it to Mr B & he encouraged me to go for it!![]() |
my pics don't do it justice |
Shoes to Match
I am clueless when it comes to knowing what shoes look right with an outfit. I do love shoes but never seem to have the right pair for an outfit & I thought there was nothing lurking in my wardrobe that would be suitable then I speed these coral babies from Marks & Spencers a few years ago now.
Coral Coral Everywhere
The coral just seemed to match up with the flowers perfectly! I love coral & luckily for me it is everywhere again this season so it wasn't to hard to gather my other accessories.
I had a bag to match the shoes but it was a massive day handbag & I was looking for a clutch or something smaller. Debenhams came up triumphs with a wristlet - I love this small bag that I can attach to my wrist & not lose it!
Although I love the neckline & v at back of the dress I always get self conscious about my arms so I wanted a cover up. It had to be crop so the shape of the dress was still showing. I searched on line & thought I was never gonna find anything suitable, when I went to a store I hardly ever think about (mainly cos they closed all the stores down round about us) BHS.
This crop cardy was perfect! A little lighter than my shoes & bag but the flowers on the dress also had the lighter colour so it still all matched in my eyes.
I use a basic foundation & powder, a green eyeliner (I bought several at the time - so have been using the same colour for years!!) some shadows that are blue/greeny & mascara. I have recently ventured into dark lips - I love the red lips look but have very small lips so need a good liner to give them any shape. Eyelash curlers & that it me done!
I had a lovely night dancing in my new dress, which just makes you want to twirl like a wee girl in her party dress!

Makeup
I do not wear make up everyday. I only wear it if I am going 'out' & I mean properly out like a night out or dancing. So I am no beauty blogger either & my make up bag is pitiful really. I would like to try new make up but hardly use it & it's expensive so I have picked up my staples along the way & really stick to one look which I think suits me.I use a basic foundation & powder, a green eyeliner (I bought several at the time - so have been using the same colour for years!!) some shadows that are blue/greeny & mascara. I feel pretty, oh so pretty
For the first time in ages I asked my mum to take a pic of me before I went out. I was happy with my outfit & my make up, so much so I had I feel pretty whizzing round my head as I drove to the venue.I had a lovely night dancing in my new dress, which just makes you want to twirl like a wee girl in her party dress!
Do you have an outfit that makes you feel pretty?
