Acceptable in the 80s

Born in the 80s

I was born in the 80s & although I probably don't remember a lot of things the first time round I have grown up with a love for the 80s.

The 80s gave us power ballads, power dressing & big hair!  My all time favourite things.  There is nothing I love more than singing my heart out to an 80s tune, with my back combed hair & neon leg warmers.

The Music

A pic in my favourite bar - Reflex

The 80s has some of my favourite songs - in fact most of them!
Michael Jackson - Thriller
Bon Jovi - Living on a Prayer
Survivor - Eye of the Tiger
Whitney Houston - I Wanna Dance with Somebody
Check out those outfits - the hair, the make up, the dance moves!
Jennifer Rush - The Power of Love
Kylie Minogue - I should be so lucky
Blondie - Atomic
Cyndi Lauper - Girls just wanna have fun
Madonna - Like a Prayer

Diana Ross - Chain Reaction
Cher - If I could turn back time
And my karaoke song

The movies

Most of my favourite movies come from the 80s too! The 80s produced loads of fab films - check out a list here but these are a few of my fav films even today.
Beaches - I cry every time! & an  amazing soundtrack - Wind beneath my wings makes my eyes tear up
Top Gun - love Take my breath away, I used to dream of getting on the back of the bike Maverick, "Take me to bed or lose me forever" is my favourite line!
Dirty Dancing - music so great in this film too - Time of my life - cheesy I know but I had this as the last dance at our evening reception for our wedding after Loch Lomond of course, I am scottish :) Is it sad I know many of the moves & will do them if these songs come on in a club? No, it's cool - thought so!
Good Morning Vietnam - I watched this with my dad & we had the soundtrack on cassette & listened to it in the car over & over - I knew every word!
Die Hard - this is just an awesome film - John McLean never gets old for me!  That white tank top just does something for me lol  Plus it is on every Christmas so you never forget it.
Who framed Roger Rabbit? Jessica Rabbit was my idol!  In fact if truth be told I probably still have a girl crush for her!  Those curves, the mysterious seduction, the singing voice - she's just fab.  This reminds me I need to see this film again soon.
There you have it my favourite decade - the 80s.  If there is an 80s theme bar, club, night, fancy dress - I'm there!

Any excuse for bright clothes, crimped hair & wild make up!

Do you have a favourite decade?

Do you have a favourite 80s song or film?
