I Blogged Every Day in May
The last post of May. The end of the #BEDM challenge. The post that should make 31 posts in May.So the title says I blogged every day. Well I nearly did.
I missed a post on the 15th.
The prompt was Reflection for ColabThursday & I just didn't know how I wanted to write it. You know when you just over think stuff? I do that a lot. Anyhoo I procrastinated then I deleted & redrafted & scrapped it & then finally got over myself! It was a post on a blog. It didn't need to be perfect. I just had to turn up.
If you have ever had problem with perfectionism or black & white thinking you will know how hard it was for me to hit publish. But I did it. So I missed one day of the blogging challenge but I proved to myself something more important.
What I loved about the challenge
The highlight of the challenge was the hashtag. It took me a while to get my blogging & blog reading in the groove but recently I have loved search the #BEDM & hopping all over different blogs seeing what they posted for that day or that prompt.
I especially loved - Best things about Childhood. Reading people's childhood memories & bring back so much of my own was just great. A real trip down memory lane. I will definitely be following up with a post of my own on childhood.
Being part of something was great - like a wee club. That what blogging is. It brings people together with totally different lives & backgrounds & interests & mixes them together to make a sweet blogging cocktail.
It all kicked off with Happiness - this is a great topic for my wee blog & it went down a treat, one of my most read posts & very fun to write. Personally I think it was the word bargain that attracted people - I hope they weren't disappointed!
The we had Cinco de Mayo - I had no idea what this prompt was but I googled it & I learned something. Every day is a school day. Plus I got to talk about some fab Mexican food & there was soo many good recipes on the BEDM hashtag!
Then the unthinkable happened! I did an outfit post! Me - yes, a full length picture online. This dress made me feel to pretty. I was swooshing & twirling like a little girl. Plus I was gaining in confidence - I had managed a whole week of blogging!

I actually proved to myself I can take up a challenge. I can be consistent. I actually have a lot to say. In fact I have still got a list of posts I have yet to write so I better get onto the next one!
