another goal setting post
I bet you thought you had read all the goal setting post in January? Well I'm a bit late to the party in getting my goals down on paper but they have been swirling round my head since the end of last year! Some say writing goals down gives them more weight, makes them real. With so much I want to achieve in 2014 I had to get it down on paper (well screen, but you know what I mean)

Crafts & creativity are a good outlet for my emotions & keeping me sane so this year I will do more crafts.
- Each month I will knit something (projects may carry over but I will make time for a project each month)
- I will do ~ 2hours of any other craft
You will have seen a few of posts on this already. Friends, family & relationships are important when it comes to happiness. I do need a push when it comes to being more sociable, I just don't want to bother anyone.
- Every month I will spend quality time with a friend or family member or good old Mr B
- I will book visits to friends & family, planning is the key
I am a geeky listy person. I used to have plans & lists for everything, my bro used to tease me that at 15yrs I had my whole life mapped out & had I made sure I'd scheduled enough toilet breaks. Then somehow life descended in chaos, I think I was trying to be a bit more spontaneous / impulsive but the end result was just a messy life & not knowing if I was coming or going.
- I am starting back with my planner
- Scheduling the things I want to achieve - with countdowns, reminders, noticeboards & calendars ( I will also be scouring organisation blogs/posts for hints, tips & motivation)
- Get 'my room' sorted. Storage, filing & noticeboards
A place for everything & everything in it's place
I am hoping this may filter to other areas of the house but for now let's just concentrate on one thing at a time!
Meditation really helped me with getting my thoughts back on track. It is so easy to forget these positive practices when your "well" but in order to keep my mental health good I want to develop a regular practice. Eventually I think I will aim for daily practice as part of my morning/evening routine but at present
- 30mins meditation every Sunday
I love learning If it's coding for blogs, knitting in the round, meditating while walking or the metabolic effects of PCOS - I am a sponge for new information. I'm not saying I ever become an expert on anything but I love the learning/researching. So each month I plan to keep me inspired.
- Listen to a TED talk, learn a new skill, improve my knowledge of something or read a book
Bee Healthy
I have written about my what got me started with on my weight loss journey here but it's the keeping going that I hope blogging will help with.
- Lose 3stones this year with healthy eating & exercise
I have more to lose & lost less last year but I believe that 3 stone is realistic & my next goal.
I want to get into an active habit. I have a gym membership & plan on using it.
- Aim for 10,000 steps each day
- Exercise 30mins each day -walking, exercise DVD, dancing or gym

I need to develop a morning & evening routine for my mental health & happiness. I crave structure, routine & habit but struggle to get into the groove. I am not quite pinned down on what the goal is either but I'll try get something specific down (following my own 6 steps to easy goal setting!)
- Wake up early each morning - 30mins earlier on work days, & set time on days off
- Set a bed time - may need different times for weekends
- Develop a morning & evening routine
As the astute readers will have noticed my goals are heavily connected to my blog. Blogging takes up a lot of time & so while I work on my goals - I will be working on my blog!
The blog can spur me on to achieve my goals & as I achieve my goals I will want to blog about it!
Have you set goals this year?
Any tips on achieving your goals?
