The Latest Craze
I had heard of these bands for a while now & had resisted the urge to buy things for yet another craft activity when I struggle to get round to the things I already have! But the craze seems to be here to stay & temptation has been everywhere. So the neon bands pulled me in & the girl at the Works said it was very relaxing & that it was easy, so I caved & bought my first bands.
The Kit
I bought a kit. £6 for 1000 bands, a changeable loom, a hook, s clips & charms - everything I needed to get started.
The pack came with some basic instructions but I figured YouTube might be the best place to start. Well, there are thousands of tutorials to choose from. I picked one I thought looked quite easy & set about my first bracelet.

Kids - the experts
When I pressed play a girl, no older than 10 years old talked me through how to make my band. That was a really weird feeling, being taught by some one old enough to be my child. Parents will jump in & tell me their kids teach them lots but for non parents it is a strange feeling. May be I am just a bit envious about how easy she made it look! She was great at it!
My first bracelet
I finished my first bracelet in around 10 mins & moved onto my next colour combo!

Not happy with just a basic fishtail, I tried a french braid, hexafish & moved onto making charms - a spider & a doggy!

What to do with them?
The big question is - what am I going to do with all these creations! I can't wear them to work due to infection risk & I generally forget about jewellery on my days off! SO if you have any ideas or good homes for my creations please let me know!!
Anyway if you want to feel creative with a quick make for little outlay, get you hands on some loom bands. You won't regret it.
